The Australian Swimming Championships capped off a huge fortnight of swimming on the Gold Coast and our Victorians have once again done us proud, bringing home 5 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 Bronze medals.

Western Melbourne Propulsion’s Nicholas Layton got off to a flying start on day 1, claiming Gold in the Men’s 50m Butterfly MC ahead of Melbourne Swimming Club’s Dylan Logan. Nicholas added a Bronze to his name in the Men’s 50m Freestyle MC and Dylan went on to secure Bronze in the Men’s 50m Freestyle MC.

Sam Williamson (Melbourne Vicentre) showed fine form in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke, finishing strong to claim Gold in 27.48 and keep the title in his name.

Nunawading Swimming Club showed their strength in the relay events with Gold medals in the Men’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay and Mixed 4x100 Medley Relay events. They also claimed Silver in the Women’s 4x200m Relay and Bronze in the Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay.
