Swimming Victoria is pleased to announce Ovens and Murray District Swimming Association as hosts of the 2023 Victorian Country LC Championships in Wangaratta.

For the first time ever, the Championships will be held at the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre from 21-23 January 2023.

Having recently undergone a major upgrade, including a new 50m outdoor pool, additional changeroom facilities and improved lighting, the centre promises to be the ideal location for the Championships.

It will kick start a busy year for the District who are also hosting the 2023 Victorian Country SC Championships at the same venue.

Ovens & Murray District Swimming Association President, Brendon Shiels is thrilled to welcome the Championships to Wangaratta.

“We are incredibly excited to have been awarded the Victorian Country Long Course Swimming Championships in Wangaratta for 2023 and look forward to showcasing all our Ovens and Murray District has to offer.

This will be the first state level meet at the new heated 50m Olympic outdoor pool, with touch pad timing system.  This is also a chance to see how the combined facility works with the 25m Indoor pool that will be hosting the 2023 Short Course Swimming Championships.

Wangaratta and surrounds offer an abundance of accommodation options along with a multitude of dining experiences. We can’t wait to see you in 2023” he said.

The Victorian Country LC Championships are open to Swimming Victoria registered members of affiliated country clubs.
