Swimming Victoria (SV) is saddened to learn of the passing of former President, John Rimmer. SV and the wider swimming community extends its sincere condolences to John’s family.
John’s commitment to the sport started as a parent volunteer with the Northcote Swimming Club in 1996, where he went on to become Vice President. He also served terms as Vice President and President of Melbourne Vicentre Swimming Club and became an accredited technical official in 2000.
In 2006, he was appointed by the Swimming Victoria Board to take over as President for the 2006/07 season. He was also appointed by the Victorian Government to the Board of the FINA 2007 World Swimming Championships.
We thank John for his many years of service to Victorian swimming.
