Recognition of Current Competency (RCC)

Swimming Victoria delivers education courses and professional development to the swimming community within a structured Coach Accreditation Pathway. In some circumstances when a coaches accreditation expires, he/she can apply for a Recognition of Current Competency to gain their accreditation. This process involves conducting a self-assessment against the learning outcomes within each unit of the course where a candidates will be required to show evidence that they are competent in these units. When submitting for RCC an appendix of evidence must be clearly labelled and organised to show why each piece of evidence proves competency in a certain unit. An administration fee of $130.00 applies to all Bronze Licence or Silver Licence RCC applications.

The AUSTSWIM accreditation is the industry standard for Swimming and Water Safety Teachers™ and is delivered and recognised in each state and territory of Australia and many countries overseas. There are currently over 25,000 AUSTSWIM Teachers in Australia and internationally with over 10,000 licensed in teaching specific programs such as infants, people with a disability and adults. Although Swimming Victoria's core business is competitive swimming, AUSTSWIM accreditation is recognised as an integral part of the Victorian Swimming community and plays a vital role in the coach / teacher development pathway.
