Today is World Environment Day, an annual celebration to encourage awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
Swimming Victoria’s (SV) strategic objective of Organisational Performance, includes “Continually reviewing and improving our financial sustainability and environmental footprint”. In 2023 we established our Sustainability Working Group to proactively seek collaboration from our stakeholders on the establishment of our Sustainability Action Plan.
The group consists of:
- Darryl Flukes, Masters in Environment & Sustainability & President of Masters Swimming Victoria
- Dr Rebecca Olive, RMIT Senior Researcher Fellow
- Louise Paech, Environment Protection Authority Victoria and Swimming Parent
- Eric Du, Swim School Manager & SV Board Director
- Jacqueline Harrod, SV Business Manager
- Clare Burton, SV Sport Development Manager
SV is conscious of the environmental impacts of our sport and is interested in our members thoughts on the way in which we work and participate regarding sustainability.
