Swimming Victoria has made the following changes to the 2023/24 Competition Calendar.
Country & Metro Junior District Competitions:
In consultation with all District Representatives, the new date will be Saturday 28th October 2023 at MSAC for both competitions. Based on last year’s timeline, approximate session times are as follows:
- Metro Junior District Competition from 8am – 12pm
- Country Junior District Competition from 1.30pm – 5.30pm
The decision to merge this competition into one day/two sessions, has been made to avoid a direct clash with already scheduled club meets.
Victorian Open LC Championships:
The 2024 Victorian Open LC Championships will now take place from 23-25 February 2024, one week later than previously planned. This adjustment has been made in response to a major event announced by the Victorian Government.
This has led to a significant increase in accommodation costs in Melbourne that would impose a substantial financial burden on our athletes and their families, especially those travelling from outside the city.
Vic Country Inter-District Competition:
Due to the change of date for the Victorian Open LC Championships and lack of other date options, we will be resting this competition for the season, with a plan to bring it back in 2025.
Country & Metro All Junior Competition:
The dates for the Australian Grand Prix have been confirmed for the 21-24 March 2024 which clashes with the Metro All Junior Competition. The new date for the Metro All Junior Competition will be 27-28 April 2024. The Country All Junior Competition will remain on 16-17 March 2024.
