After 10 years on the Swimming Victoria Board, Damian Van de Berg has stepped down from his role as Director.

Due to family, work and personal commitments, Damian feels he is no longer able to dedicate the time required to fulfil his duties as a Director.

Swimming Victoria President, Courtney Ford said Damian’s absence from the Board will be strongly felt. “The Swimming Victoria Directors extend a huge thank you to Damian. He has been a dedicated and thoughtful Director for many years and has contributed immensely to the improved governance of our organisation” she said.

“On a personal level, I have really enjoyed working with Damian for the past four years and thank him for sharing his knowledge and counsel during that time. Damian’s service to Swimming Victoria and the sport of swimming more generally is incredible. He will no doubt continue in other forms, particularly as a technical official at club, state, national and international level” said Ford.

Damian will still officiate when he can and is very excited to be part of the team for the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

We wish him all the very best both on and off pool deck.
