Swimming Victoria, together with Gippsland Swimming Inc. and Latrobe City Council, are excited to announce Traralgon as the location for the 2024 Victorian Country Short Course Championships.
The Championships will be held at the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre (GRAC) from 10-11 August 2024.
The brand new, state of the art facility, with its 50m indoor pool and 500 spectator seats is set to be the ideal location for the Championships.
It will be a big year for the district, who is also hosting the 2024 Victorian Country Long Course Championships at the same venue in January. Gippsland Swimming President, Jacqueline Madden is excited for the busy year ahead.
“Gippsland Swimming are very much looking forward to hosting 2024 Country SC Championships, working alongside SV, Latrobe City, GRAC and our 7 member clubs. Whilst the facility will be showcased at the Country LC Championships in January, we look forward to running a successful short course event in August 2024. Lots to do and we thank all who have been involved in the preparation for both events so far. A big boost for our district, Latrobe City and a positive move for swimming” she said.
Swimming Victoria Events Experience Manager, Narelle Holding said: “We are thrilled to head to Traralgon for the 2024 Victorian Country SC Championships and we are delighted to once again be working with Gippsland Swimming to deliver this fantastic event. With such experienced hosts, combined with this impressive facility, I’m sure that these Championships will be a wonderful celebration of Victorian country swimming.”
The Victorian Country SC Championships are open to Swimming Victoria registered members of affiliated country clubs.
