Smoke Pollution Melbourne
Written by: Swimming Victoria

You will all be aware of the current disruption to training and competition being encountered due to bushfire smoke impact on daily training environments.

In late December the AIS released guidelines to assist with decisions around training and competition in smoke affected environments. These guidelines have now been updated to be more applicable and more useful to those needing to make decisions about whether it is safe to train at a particular point in time or over the subsequent couple of hours.

The updated guidelines can be found here.

While we appreciate that there has been significant disruption to normal training opportunities, the safety and well-being of athletes must take priority while the significant smoke pollution continues.
