All the action will be at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre outdoor pooL as Swimming Victoria hosts the Optus 2019 Victorian Open Championships and World Para Swimming World Series.

The Open Championships are Victoria’s premier swimming competition and, along with the opening round of the World Series, will bring some of the best-known competitors from around Australia and the world to Melbourne.

The competitions will run concurrently from Friday 15 February to Sunday 17 February and there will be FREE entry to all sessions!

World Championship silver medalist Cameron McEvoy, Rio Olympics gold medalist Mack Horton and emerging breaststroker Jess Hansen headline the Open ranks.

The Para Swimming competition will be brimming with talent with the likes of multiple Paralympic Champion Ellie Cole, emerging star Tim Disken, Rowan Crothers, Brenden Hall and New Zealand’s most decorated Paralympian Sophie Pascoe competing.

This will be the third – and largest - season for the World Para Swimming World Series, with Melbourne the first city in Oceania to host a round, and will involve more than 100 competitors from 17 countries, including New Zealand, France, Canada, Japan and Hungary.

Community broadcaster C31 will livestream all races and televise the finals sessions.
