Swimming Victoria is excited to announce the members of our representative team who will travel to America to compete at the 2019 Phillips 66 US National Championships to be held at Stanford University, California from July 31 – August 5 2019.
After the success of the Singapore Tour in 2018, our team of 10 athletes and 3 coaches is excited to be able to gain invaluable travel and race experience and to perform on the world stage. The tour is an important part of their continued development and preparation into Tokyo 2020 and beyond. The targeted age group is 17 years and over for females and 18 years and over for males and supports athletes who are working towards Senior Team Selection.
With the support of asctaVIC, we have been able to provide the opportunity for an additional coach, Ashley Delaney, to attend this year alongside our Coach Development Director, Wayne Lawes and Jason Cooper who also attended the Singapore Tour last year. Cooper says he is “excited to be one of the coaches on the US Tour. The experience gained by both swimmers and coaches will be invaluable as we head into the next 12-month Olympic trials preparation. The opportunity to travel and compete internationally is going to have a significant positive impact on all involved.”
