Victorian Metropolitan SC Championships UPDATE

04 August 2021
Swimming Victoria important update
Written by: Swimming Victoria

Swimming Victoria is pleased to confirm that the 2021 Victorian Metropolitan SC Championships will commence on Saturday 7 August.

We were overwhelmed with the response to this event and have been working hard to ensure that all 1100 swimmers entered have an opportunity to compete. Therefore, we’ve had to make some significant changes to the program to adhere to the current COVID restrictions and strict venue capacity limits.

Please be aware of the following updates:

  • Events 1-23 will run on Saturday 7 August and Events 63-76 will run on Sunday 8 August. All remaining events will be conducted on Sunday 22 August.
  • The competition will now be held in the OUTDOOR pool at MSAC.
  • This is a closed event. To ensure capacity limits are met please only attend with 1 x parent/guardian per family.
  • All attendees must check in via the QR code and adhere to government restrictions and directives from MSAC staff.
  • Due to restrictions, there will be no medal presentations at the competition. Medals will be distributed to your club after the competition.
  • We are relying on Coaches and Team managers to ensure that their club and competing swimmers understand the requirements under which the meet is operating and that these are observed by their swimmers and club members. Coaches and Team Managers must nominate their attendance via Swim Central by 9am Friday 6 August.
  • A Coaches Briefing will be held at 7:30pm on Thursday 5 August via Zoom. Team Managers are welcome, click here to attend.

The psych sheet, athlete list and session report for this weekend are now available on the Swimming Victoria website HERE.

For those that can’t make it to the venue, you’ll be able to catch all the action from MSAC live and FREE on SwimTV.

Further information will be emailed to participants on Friday 6 August, in the meantime if you have any queries, please email events@vic.swimming.org.au.

We thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to seeing you at MSAC.
