The talent being nurtured in Victoria was definitely on show once again as we impressed on Night 6 of the 2024 Australian Age Championships.

Always smiling Isabella Osborn (MLC AQUATIC) hit the pool up first to steal a Silver in the Girls 16 years 100m Butterfly, improving on her Bronze from last year.

Golden girl Arika Erdenko (SURREY PARK) impressed crowds toughing out the Girls 13 years 400m Individual Medley to claim her third GOLD of the competition, definitely someone to keep an eye on over the next few years.

Spectators were once again shown the heart of Victorian athletes with Harry Heath's (NUNAWADING) final lap of the Boys 15 years 200m Breaststroke splitting 2 seconds quicker than the rest of the field to move himself up into a Silver medal.

Our Breaststroke boys continued to shine in the Boys 16 years 200m event with Nicholas Stoupas and Thomas Sutherland, the Caulfield duo, claiming Gold and Silver!

MLC’s Alannah Torrance made an appearance in yet another final on her busy program in the Girls 17 years 100m Breaststroke, and added to her shining collection of medals with a Silver from a super close finish between the top 3.

Country girl Zahlie Snjiders (GEELONG) stuck to her race plan in the Girls 14 years 400m Freestyle to move her way through the field and fly down the final 100m chasing the leaders, finishing on the wall in an incredible 4:24:97, and another Silver national medal.

Our distance events at the end of the evening certainly didn’t disappoint, with endurance specialist Mackenzie Hunter (MLC AQUATIC) battling it out in the Girls 17 years 800m Freestyle to gain a 9 second personal best and her first National Age Long Course Gold Medal!

Our last final individual event of the evening saw Tommy Lane (CHELTENHAM) push through to a Silver medal in the Boys 18 years 1500m Freestyle.

The final races of the night were some super fun club relays which resulted in a Bronze medal for the Nunawading Girls 13-17 years 4 x 100m medley relay.

Another night of action in the pool done, we head into Day 7, keeping the Victorian vibes high, and smiles on our faces.

Go Vics!
