From 18 October to 2 November 2024, three Victorian athletes represented Australia at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup series hosted in Shanghai (18-20 Oct), Korea (24-26 Oct) and Singapore (31 Oct-2 Nov).

Noah Millard (MLC Aquatic, coached by Craig Jackson) had a terrific meet in Shanghai, showing the force of Victorian swimming as he smashed the Victorian Men’s 200m Freestyle record, previously held by Olympic legend Grant Hackett since 2007, with his time of 1:42.80.

Nunawading's Isabella Boyd (coached by Jol Finck) competed in Korea and Singapore. Showing everyone that she is back to her best after an being plagued by injury and illness earlier in the year, Isabella placed 8th in the Women’s 50m Butterfly final in Korea with a time of 26.23 with only 0.68 separating the field. This was Isabella’s first Open International racing experience which will carry her well into the future.

Tara Kinder (Melbourne Vicentre, coached by Craig Jackson) had two fantastic performances across the Korean and Singaporean stops in the series, with multiple top 3 placings in the Women’s 200m and 400m Individual Medley and the 200m Breaststroke. Tara equalled her personal bests, continuing her exceptional form from the recent Australian SC Championships where she qualified for the World SC Championships.

The World Cup series was a fantastic opportunity for our Victorian athletes to gain invaluable experience performing on the international stage. Swimming Victoria commends all three athletes for their performances and the exceptional way they represented Victorian swimming.
