The Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ascta), is the peak body for Swimming Coaches and Teachers in Australia. ascta is dedicated to developing world leading practices in the education, accreditation, professional development and on-going support for swimming Coaches and swimming and water safety Teachers.

asctaVIC is the Victorian branch of ASCTA and is supported by ASCTA and Swimming Victoria. asctaVIC conduct an annual conference to support swimming coaches and swimming and water safety teachers and undertake professional development training and participate in swim meets.

    NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

     

    The Annual General Meeting of the Association will be held Online at 11:00am on Thursday 4th November 2021

    The business of the meeting shall be:

    1. to confirm the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting held on 17 September 2020

    2. to confirm the minutes and approve the decisions made of any Special General Meeting held (None held)

    3. to receive from the Board reports on the business of the Association for the year ended 30 June 2021

    4. to elect Executive Officers of the Association and up to 7 Ordinary members of the Board.

    In accordance with the Terms of Office provided for under Rules 18.2 (2) and 18.2 (3) of the Constitution, the following Executive positions are subject to re-election this year:

    − President (rotation) Currently Angus Barnes

    − Vice President (rotation) Currently Nick Veliades

    5. to receive and consider the accounts and information submitted by the Committee in compliance with sub-section 30(3) of the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic).

    6. to transact any special business of which written notice is given to the Secretary in accordance with the Rules of the Association.

    7. such further or other business as the board in its discretion consider appropriate.

     

    NOTE

    Nomination of candidates for election of officers and ordinary members of the Committee and the Appeals Tribunal must be made in writing, signed by two members of the Association, accompanied by the written consent of the nominee. Attached is a form which may be used for nomination of both officers and ordinary members of the Committee and members of the Appeal Tribunal.

     

    Nominations must be delivered in the case of the Executive & Board Members and in the case of the Appeals Tribunal to the asctaVIC President, (swimcoachgus@gmail.com) c/- asctaVIC, 91 Koornalla Crescent Mount Eliza, 3930 not less than 28 days before the meeting, namely by 5.00pm AEST on Wednesday 6th October 2021.

     

    PLEASE ALSO NOTE: A member may appoint another member as their proxy by notice in the form attached. The notice appointing the proxy must reach the Secretary no later than 5.00pm AEST on 2 November 2021
