It was a huge 5 days of racing the 2024 Victorian Age LC Championships which took place from 16-20 December 2023 at Melbourne Sports Centres (MSAC).

Over 1400 athletes took to the pool to showcase their talents and test themselves against the best age group swimmers in Victoria as well as swimmers from NSW, ACT, Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland, Singapore, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates and Japan

We saw some outstanding swimming throughout the competition with countless PBs and national qualifying times achieved as well as 6 Victorian Records broken. Congratulations to our newest record holders.

Once again, Nunawading Swimming Club proved itself as the club to beat, finishing top of the club points score with an impressive 2850 points. They were followed by Melbourne Swimming Club (2121) and MLC Aquatic (1654).

We were thrilled to again team up with Kayo Freebies and Big Voice Media to live stream every race of the Championships. The broadcast was enhanced by our wonderful team of commentators, some of which were graduates from our recent commentator training course. We look forward to welcoming them back on the mic throughout the summer of swimming.

For the first time ever, we also gave our viewers some extra insight by conducting pool deck interviews. A huge thank you to Kahlia Marsh and our swimmers for making this happen.

The atmosphere at the Championships was electric, with Funky Trunks & Funkita, Swimmerch, Sports in Focus, Project H2grow, AutoCoach and Sports Integrity Australia all adding to the vibe. The Champions Bar and balcony viewing during finals sessions once again proved to be a crowd pleaser!

Alongside this, we delivered a range of development sessions for our clubs and community, including our Club Forum, Women’s Swimming Networking event, Parent Information and Committee Governance sessions which were enjoyed by all.

Swimming Victoria would like to thank all swimmers, coaches, parents, officials and volunteers for a fantastic Victorian Age LC Championships! We wish you all the best for the holiday season.
