Technical Officials - Leigh & Hayley Hogan
Written by: Swimming Victoria

A 17 strong contingent of Victorian Technical Officials has been appointed by Swimming Australia to officiate at the 2018 Hancock Prospecting Australian Short Course Championships, including father/daughter duo, Leigh and Hayley Hogan.

Our local talent, the largest group from any state, have been called upon to pace the pool deck as the Championships return to Melbourne for the first of 4 consecutive years.  This year’s championships will be held at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) from 25-27October 2018.

Hailing from Shepparton, the Hogans have been involved in swimming for many years. Hayley’s background as a talented national level swimmer lead Leigh to start officiating, to give back to the sport that has given so much to him and his daughter.

At just 20 years old, Hayley is an up and comer on the officiating scene. In 2016, she was selected as part of the Young Officials Scholarship Program, where she received mentoring in pool deck protocols and professional development, driving her to seek further officiating opportunities.

The Hogan’s are fast becoming regulars at Nationals, having also been appointed for the 2018 State Team Championships in Canberra in September. “I am very fortunate to be selected alongside my daughter for the State Team and National SC Championships as this is something we are both very passionate about” said Leigh.

We look forward to seeing Leigh and Hayley in action together at MSAC and congratulate all our appointed Technical Officials:
