Nominate for State Relays at Aus Age Champs

Get excited, state relays at the 2024 Australian Age Championships are fast approaching! Which means it’s time to select our relay teams to represent Victoria.

Here’s what you need to know and how we will select our relay swimmers.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR 2024 AUSTRALIAN AGE CHAMPIONSHIPS – STATE RELAYS

How to nominate

  • Swimmers must nominate via Swim Central no later than 11:59pm Friday 8 March 2024
  • Swimmers must nominate their availability for both the Freestyle & Medley Relay
  • If nominating for a medley relay, swimmers must select all strokes when nominating.

Teams

  • Only one (1) State team relay per event, per age group.
  • The four (4) fastest swimmers, will be nominated for each event.
  • Each swimmer is limited to enter in one (1) relay per stroke. E.g. one (1) freestyle relay event and one (1) medley relay event.
  • Medals will be awarded.

Age Groups

 

Freestyle Relays:

  • Girls 13-17 years; Girls 13/14 years; Girls 15/16 years
  • Boys 14-18 years; Boys 14/15 years; Boys 16/17 years

Medley Relays:

  • 2x 13yr girls/2x 14yr boys
  • 2x 14yr girls/2x 15yr boys
  • 2x 15yr girls/2x 16yr boys
  • 2x 16yr girls/2x 17yr boys
  • 2x 17yr girls/2x 18yr boys

Age is determined by the swimmers age as at 6 April 2024.

Events

  • The four (4) fastest swimmers available for each event based on times collected by the selection panel over the selection period.
  • Teams to be confirmed at the conclusion of the heat session on the day of the event (Day 3 & Day 9)

Note: Swimming Victoria may amend these selection guidelines at any time, at its discretion and can make any necessary changes to the team.
