Professionalism in Practice at Squad Training Camps

Performance Pathways Squads Training Camp
Written by: Swimming Victoria

It has been a busy few weeks for the swimmers and coaches in our State Marlin and State Flippers Squads with Training Camps taking place at Geelong Grammar in June and July.

The camps are an invaluable opportunity to bring athletes and coaches together in a high performance environment to share and develop their own skills and knowledge. The focus of the camps was professionalism in practice for coaches and athletes, swimming efficiently, technique and skill improvement, kicking and pulling and National Flipper testing.

The athletes were treated to a great line up of guest presenters including Olympian and SV Performance Pathways Ambassador, Michael Klim who ran competitive mindset sessions with the swimmers.

They also heard from Will Sexton, Strength and Conditioning Coach at Geelong Football Club, Natalie Caldwell, Pilates Coach, Andrew Cameron (Physiotherapist) and Lachlan Mitchell (Sport Scientist) from the Victorian Institute of Sport and Victorian Head Coach Tracey Menzies-Stegbauer.
