The Australian Dolphins Swim Team are on top of the world after an outstanding performance at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan. They topped the gold medal tally with 13 Gold as well as 7 Silver and 5 Bronze medals.

Melbourne Vicentre’s Sam Williamson (coached by Craig Jackson) did Victoria proud, finishing 4th in the world in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke with his personal best time of 26.82, missing out on a medal by just three-hundredths of a second.

Sam was a key contributor in the relay heats swims, setting the Dolphins up with a Silver in the Mixed 4 x 100m Medley Relay and a Bronze in the Men’s 4 x 100m Medley Relay. Well done Sam!

Congratulations also to Nunawading’s Xiandi Chua (coached by Michal Skrodzki) who represented the Philippines at the Championships. Xiandi finished 23rd in the heats of the Women’s 200m Backstroke (2:13.80) and 25th in the heats of the Women’s 400m IM (4:49.13).
