The group presented twice to council and collected feedback via survey through two separate consultation processes. The survey was open to all Entities and Council.

Overwhelming most responses supported the need for revised requirements and acknowledged these would improve the sport.

“I think the intention of these requirements are great and will improve swimming in Victoria.  My concern is that they add workload to the already scarce and time-poor volunteers and committee members, so Swimming Victoria would need to provide significant support, tools and resources to help clubs to achieve the requirements.” – anonymous feedback response, round 2.

“This is all a great step forward and quite attainable.  Well done!” - anonymous feedback response, round 2.

The SV Board endorsed the group’s recommended categories and requirements for Entity Registration as well as Club resources such as Templates and Frequently Asked Questions to support club volunteers in the Registration process.

The Board also endorsed the timeline for implementation. All categories and requirements will be in place by season 2025/26 registration.

SV will begin the next Entity registration process in May 2023, for the 2023/24 season. All requirements under the new process will need to be attained in time for the 2024/25 season, allowing Entities close to 18 months to become compliant.
