We had another morning of sprint and speed to kick off Day 8 of the Australia Age Championships.

Henry Allan from Bendigo East blitzed the field to take another Gold, this time in the Boys 15 years 50m Backstroke. Also adding to her growing swag was Alannah Torrance of MLC, surging forward in the Girls 17 years 50m Breaststroke to claim a Silver medal. Lily Koch of Nunawading took out Silver in the Girls 15 50m Butterfly

The Victorians battled it out in the 100m Freestyle events with Ciara Jeffs (Yarra Plenty Waves) securing the Silver in the Girls 13 years, marking her 7th individual medal in her first ever Age Nationals. Giselle Davey (Caulfield) went out quickly and held on for Bronze in the Girls 17 years.

Jessica Wilson (Nunawading) put everything she had into the Girls 16 years 100m Backstroke with an amazing swim to finish with a Silver, one place above her 50m Backstroke. Harry Heath (Nunawading) was back in action in the Boys 15 years 200m Individual Medley coming from behind to steal a Bronze.

Then our breaststroke dynamic duo Nicholas Stoupas and Thomas Sutherland from Caulfield were back in the pool, in a truly memorable race just point zero three separated the boys on the wall with Stoupas edging out Sutherland to take Gold. It was great to see the boys smiling and laughing after the race. This marks the dynamic duo going Gold & Silver in the 50-100-200m Breaststroke events.

We now head into the final day of competition. Go Vics!

Medal Tally:

18 Gold, 30 Silver & 25 Bronze.
