Australia topped the medal tally in Cairns at the 2018 Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships with an impressive 94 medals, including 43 Gold, 30 Silver and 21 Bronze. Two years out from the 2020 Paralympics, it was an encouraging glimpse into the future for the Australian Dolphins as they went up against para-swimming powerhouses, USA, Canada and Japan.

It was a gold rush for Tim Disken (PLC Aquatic) as he continued his electric form, bringing home 4 Gold and 1 Silver. In the Men’s 100m Breaststroke SB8, he shaved 2 seconds off his heat time to claim Gold with a PB of 1:11.91.

Dolphins debutante Jaime-Lee Getson (Melbourne Torpedos) had a standout performance in the Women’s 100m Breaststroke SB14, hitting the wall at 1:26.30 to secure Silver. She was also part of the Gold-medal winning Mixed 4 x 100m Freestyle relay team. She proved she’ll be one to watch in years to come.

Nunawading’s Madeleine Scott claimed victory in the Women’s 200IM SM9, clocking a time of 2:40.38. She also added a Bronze medal to her haul in the Women’s 100m Breaststroke SB9.
