Swimming Victoria (SV) President Michelle Harris and Korea Swimming Federation (KSF) Secretary General Mr Kim Seunghoon today came together at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing was attended by Korea’s Consul General, Mr Changhoon Yi and senior representatives from both organisations.
The MoU recognises the already strong connection between the two bodies and formalises their commitment to support joint activities in the areas of coaching, swimmer development, and competition.
Swimming Victoria has a strong Korean community of swimmers, coaches and volunteers contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the sport in the State, and Korean teams have been regular visitors to Victoria for training and competitions.
While in Melbourne for the MoU signing, Mr Kim and his colleagues were also given a demonstration of the Hawk-Eye technology developed by Swimming Victoria. With its capabilities in supporting officiating, performance analysis and event experience, the technology is breaking new ground in the sport, and is one of many areas in which Korea Swimming Federation and Swimming Victoria are looking to share knowledge.
