Swimming Victoria is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Bob Ness. The Victorian swimming community extends its deepest sympathies to his family. A long-standing Technical Official, Bob was a Life Member of Swimming Victoria and Melbourne Vicentre.
In 2008 he was awarded the Bill Slade Trophy for the most outstanding Victorian Technical Official of the year and in 2011 he was awarded his 30-year Service Pin.
He is survived by his wife Pat. Their grandchildren Maxine, Zoe and James have all been members of Firbank Aquastars.
We thank Bob for his many years of contribution to swimming in Victoria.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bob Ness will be held on Wednesday 17 July 2019 at 10:00am at Port Melbourne Uniting Church, 144 Bridge St, Port Melbourne. No flowers by request.
