The countdown is on to the 2024 Victorian Age LC Championships!

The Championships will take place from 16-20 December 2023 at Melbourne Sports Centres (MSAC).  It’s the biggest event on the Swimming Victoria calendar, with over 1400 of Victoria’s most talented age group swimmers, along with swimmers from NSW, ACT, Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland, Singapore, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates and Japan, taking to the pool for 5 action packed days of racing.

But the action won’t just be in the pool, we’ve got an exciting line up of activations and functions happening throughout the event which are sure to keep everyone entertained.

It all kicks off with our opening ceremony on Saturday at 5pm, with a Welcome to Country performed by members of the Bunurong Land Council.

Our friends from Funky Trunks and Funkita will be there showcasing their bright, bold, high quality swimwear. Make sure you visit their pop up shop which will be open Saturday - Wednesday. You’ll also be able to purchase the latest swimming merchandise at the Swimmerch stall.

We are thrilled to welcome back Project H2grOw to the Championships. New and previous participating athletes are invited to track growth, maturation, and swimming performance with Project H2grOw. Project H2grOw will be operating during heats and finals between Saturday (heats) and Tuesday (heats). Keep an eye out for the Project H2grOw banner!

Sports Integrity Australia will also be in attendance on Saturday 16 December to provide information and resources on safe, fair and healthy sporting environments. They will be running activities and handing out merchandise, so make sure you stop by.

Sports in Focus will return as our official event photographers. They will be capturing all the swimming action during heats, as well as commemorative photos on the dais at the end of each heats session. Register before 11:59pm Friday 15 December to receive a 20% off promotional code.

Back by popular demand, the Champions Bar will be open during the Saturday - Wednesday night finals sessions, from 6pm on Saturday and Sunday and 5:30pm on Monday-Wednesday. This will lead out onto the Champions Room balcony, offering another viewpoint for the swimming. Come along, enjoy a drink and some live music from our acoustic guitarist, whilst taking in the action.

We are also excited to be joining the Washroom Dignity initiative, where we will be offering free menstruation products in both the female indoor and outdoor pool changerooms during the Championships. We believe everyone should have access to these products and hope that this provides a comfortable environment for young swimmers.

Alongside all of this, we’ve got a great program of development sessions for our clubs and community, including our Club Forum, Women’s Swimming Networking event, Parent Information session and Committee Governance sessions. To view the full schedule, click here.

For those who can’t make it to MSAC, we’ve once again teamed up with Kayo Freebies to bring you every race, LIVE and FREE. International viewers can also tune in via our YouTube channel.

We hope you are as excited as we are for the 2024 Victorian Age LC Championships! For all competition information and updates click here.
